Knitting Angel Support

Do you need support in fixing a boo-boo,  a friendly nudge of confidence to figure out a pattern, or someone to gently rip out those rows because you can’t stomach it?  Stop by on Saturday or Sunday (or call for an appointment) and I’m happy to be your Knitting Angel!

In addition, my Niece Sammie is happy to wind your yarn into a nice center-pull ball to help you avoid those nasty tangles that occur when trying to knit direct from a hank.  (Picture of Sam).

My Knitting Angel:

Whenever I would make a mistake in my knitting (and of course wouldn’t notice it until I had knit an eternity of rows), my Mom would say “just put it down, it will look better in the morning once its had a chance to settle a bit”.  I was always so pleased in the morning that Mom was right.  Where once there was an obvious loose stitch, stitch out of pattern, yarn over where it shouldn’t be,  or even a dropped stitch, now existed a perfectly “settled” project.

After my Mom passed away, my project mistakes were not “settling” as they used to.  I would wake up in the morning, check the project and there was the nasty mistake glaring me in the face “unsettled”. When I mentioned this to my Dad he was amazed “you really didn’t know your Mom ripped them out and re-knit them for you?” (I inherited my Mom’s hands and her exact stitch gauge!).  Now, I will admit to knowing that my Mom would sneak in my closet at night and re-iron the clothes I had ironed that day. But I honestly had no idea that my Mom was my Knitting Angel capable of “settling” any knitting mistake
