Hi!  I’m Lesley (Yipppeeee!!!!  I’m officially a yarn shop owner!!!!) I learned to knit when I was eight years old.  I grew up with the wonderful “clicky-click” of my Mom’s needles as she made everything from afghans, to dishcloths, toys and (oh dear!) “peter heaters”.  I have vivid memories of sneaking my knitting into the backseat of Aunt Fran’s Volvo when she drove me to the dentist even after I had been warned by Aunt Fran that I couldn’t knit while we were moving because “it was dangerous”.  (as a side note Aunt Fran now “power walks” great distances at a remarkably fast pace WHILE she is knitting!  Apparently speed walking doesn’t count as moving Aunt Fran?????)

At 22 I wanted to make an afghan as a special present for my then boyfriend Brian.  To make a long story short, with my Mom’s help, Brian became my husband, and knitting became an obsession. (Luckily Hubby Brian is very supportive of my obsession).

My love of knitting quickly expanded to anything fiber-arts related. Dances with Wools is a way to support and to share my obsession.

By day I am a Training Professional and enjoy designing and delivering training programs.  At Dances With Wools, I have the opportunity to combine Teaching with Fiber-arts. How lucky am I????
